Dear Members,
We are returning to the roads around the Russian River again and our “base” will be downtown Occidental at the Occidental Lodge.
The dates are September 11th (Friday) to 13th (Sunday)
You may also choose to join us only for the Saturday ride at 1000 (10 AM), if your available time is limited. The Friday ride is scheduled for 1300 (1 PM).
Our block of rooms at the Occidental Lodge has been claimed, except for one (1) double queen, which will be held for Team Alameda. If taken, interested riders are still welcome to inquire about general availability. If the Occidental Lodge should be fully booked, there is another option:
• Inn at Occidental (really close by) [3 minutes’ walk from the Occidental Lodge, Address: 3657 Church St, Occidental, CA 95465, Phone: (707) 874-1047].
Please let us know that you intend to join us by sending an email at memberatlarge@teamalameda.org and advise if you booked a room at the Occidental Lodge and the names of everybody in your party. We will follow up with you by email to confirm plans and answer any questions. You are also encouraged to join the #away-ride-occidental-2026 Discord channel where details and arrangements can be discussed, such as coordinating car pools, luggage transfers, and dinner reservations. Arrangements can also be made by the aforementioned email if you do not wish to use Discord.
Reservations for the Occidental Lodge
11-13 September 2026
It is advised to preferentially select a room on the upper floor, since the ceiling to the room below transmits noise easily. You may reserve certain nights and not others, but you are encouraged to remain with our group as long as possible for the social occasions, such as dinners. Bicycles may be kept in the room, with regard to keeping the carpets, walls and area clean.
Check-In time is 1500 (3 P.M.) and Check-Out time is 1100 (11 A.M.).
The office closes at 2200 hours (10 P.M.).

Distance from Alameda to the Occidental Lodge is 76 miles, which is about 90 minutes’ drive time.
ANOTHER DETAILED PLAN WITH ROUTES WILL BE SENT SEPARATELY
It is important to note, that a Richmond BART to Occidental Lodge-route will be offered on Friday, September 11th. So please alert Ralph and our Discord channel, that you plan on participating in getting those miles in. This will indicate alternate arrangements for luggage transfer will need to be made. Ralph will return to Alameda on Sunday by car, so no reverse ride to Richmond BART is planned. Please indicate your interest in joining Ralph as soon as possible.
